Recs terms of service

Effective 13 October 2026. These terms are a contract between you and Recs, Melbourne, Australia ("Recs", "we"). By creating an account you agree to them and to the Community guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use Recs.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and give us an accurate date of birth. You may hold one account and must keep your sign-in method secure.

2. Your content

You own what you post: ratings, reviews, photos, lists, comments and messages. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and distribute it inside Recs so the product works, for as long as it is on Recs. You are responsible for it: post only what you have the right to post, and nothing that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, harassing or sexual, and nothing that reveals someone's private information. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms or the guidelines, with or without notice.

3. Places and third-party data

Place names, addresses, opening hours and photos come from Google Maps Platform and from other users. They may be wrong or out of date; check before you go. Google's terms and privacy policy apply to that data.

4. Safety

Report content or people from the menu on any review, list, comment, message or profile. Block and mute are in the same menu. We review reports and may act on them, but we do not pre-approve what people post and cannot promise that every piece of content meets the guidelines.

5. Your account

Delete it any time in Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, pose a risk to others or are inactive for a long time. We may change or discontinue features.

6. Disclaimers and liability

Recs is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on content or place data. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer law that cannot be excluded; where a guarantee cannot be excluded, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service.

7. App store terms

Recs on iOS is also subject to Apple's standard end-user licence agreement. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.

8. Changes

We will post changes here and ask you to agree again in the app before you continue when the changes are material.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and disputes go to the courts there. Contact: hello@getrecs.com.au.
